Kabbalat Shabbat Services

January 7, 2022 @ 6:30 pm 8:00 pm

We’re marking the beginning of a new year with a lot of the same uncertainty hanging over us. In the face of Covid-19, Nafshenu is returning to virtual services for the month of January, but we also have hope of emerging from this pandemic in the coming months. Our Torah readings this Shabbat and next talk of the emergence from slavery to freedom. Moses asks Pharaoh to “Let my people go.” But it takes a series of 10 increasingly severe plagues to persuade the Egyptian king to free the people. Then, finally, he does so, allowing them to undertake the journey to the promised land. I hope and pray that we will make it to the promised land of face-to-face meetings and open doors in 2022!
