Weekly Torah Study -Seeing the Same Facts Differently

June 3, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Nafshenu Torah Study: Seeing the Same Facts Differently

Sometimes, reality itself is up for debate: Who won the election? Are vaccines safe? Do race or sex race determine opportunity in life? In this week’s Torah reading, the facts are clear but their meaning is up for debate. In Shlach L’kha (Numbers 13:1-15:41), Moses sends 12 spies to explore the Promised Land. All agree the land is rich and its people well-armed. They disagree on whether the reward justifies the risk. The 10 nay-sayers win,  leading to 38 more years of wandering.

Questions: Were the people ready for the challenge? Did they need to wait for a post-slavery generation to emerge? Let’s talk! Please sign up for Nafshenu’s Torah study, Thursday, June 3, 7:30 p.m. with Reb Dovid (student rabbi David Goodman).
