NAFSHENU – 6 days to ROSH ON THE RIVER

We’re in the High Holiday countdown mode at Nafshenu! It’s six days to Nafshenu’s customary Rosh on the River picnic and service: 6:30 p.m. this Sunday, September 25, at Cooper River Park’s Vista Deck (510 Park Blvd, Cherry Hill). We’ll have grape juice, wine, challah, apples and honey and for kiddush, so just bring a picnic meal for your household. So far, the weather looks perfect for early fall in South Jersey!

This year, we have a special musical guest, multi-instrumentalist Scott Mizrachi. Scott, son of Anita and Menashe Mizrachi, will join Rabbi David Goodman in leading our singing-centered Rosh Hashanah evening service. Drums and maracas are available for children of all ages — as long as supply lasts.

The Rosh Hashanah morning service starts at 9:30 a.m. Monday, September 26. It will be at the Gibson House in Marlton, 535 E. Main St.

More details on the holidays through Yom Kippur, Sukkot and Simchat Torah will go out later this week, but here’s a preview: Debbie and Larry will be hosting Kol Nidre on Tuesday, October 4, at 6:30 p.m. We’ll be back at Gibson House for the Yom Kippur day service at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 5. And another member will be hosting Yizkor and Ne’ilah starting at 5 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a pot luck break fast. PLEASE EMAIL RABBI DAVID for exact locations: rebdovid@nafshenu.org, or call him at (248) 508-0874.
